Conventional varnishes and paints contain volatile elements that damage the environment, our health, and our pet’s.

Only vegetal and mineral components are used in the production of the ecologic paints.
These ingredients are harmless during production, application and waste.

Main Advantages

As already stated above, these paints do not contain toxic substances, such as biocides or plastics; for that reason, their environmental impact is less damaging than synthetic products.

Going Green paints complete and exceed quality standards. They do not cause toxic volatile gases that harm the environment and our health.

150 natural, renewable, biodegradable substances, that do not produce toxic gas emanations, are used during its production.
A great deal of this substances are harvest nearby the paint factory to reduce transporting energy cost.
Some of the materials used in production are oils and vegetal derivates, such as bee wax, tree leaves, caseine, plants and metal oxide and recyclable products.

Trischler & Partner, of Frieburg, Germany studied the environmental impact of “going green paints”. The result showed, that a 2000sq ft house, find out that 12.000 jules of energy consumption, 80 m³ of emissions, 100.000 l of residual water, 170 l of solid residue are 560 kg of carbon dioxide were saved by not using conventional paints.

These ecologic paints form a porous layer that allows walls to breath.
Water steam and humidity don’t build up, as happens with conventional paints. Therefore, the wall paint does not chapped.

This characteristic, prevents fungus and bacteria, to grow.
Which warranties a more hygienic and good standing condition paint.

Ecologic paints are also fire retardant and don’t produce toxic gases, while burning.

They make easier the re-paint job, as they don’t have to be removed.
You can paint over the old paint layer, on walls, ceilings, painted papers, wallpaper, fiber paper, cardboard, gypsum, clay, bricks or blocks.

They come in a wide variety of colors.

Wood protection

Wood as a living element, absorbs and looses humidity. Depending on temperature it dilates or it shrinks.

Ecologic Varnishes go along with wood changes. That means that theydo not crack or chapped.
On the other hand, synthetic varnishes or sealers, create a superficial layer, that isolates wood from the exterior.

Synthetic varnishes form a rigid layer, that gets chapped, due to the interior tension cause by dilatation and contraction. Living wood exposed to aggressive elements that deteriorates its look.
Then it becomes necessary to remove old varnish and reapply.

Vegetal oils have the advantage to penetrate the wood and protect it from the inside. These elastic products, protect wood and allow it to expand and contract in a natural manner, prevent wood from chapping. Giving wood a longer lasting , low maintenance finish.

Barnices y pinturas contienen elementos volátiles que dañan el medio ambiente y la salud de personas y animales domésticos.

Con el afán de preservar el medio ambiente, desde hace un par de años se han empezado a comercializar “pinturas ecológicas”. Para su fabricación se utilizan materias primas de origen vegetal y/o mineral que no contaminan ni durante su producción, ni en la aplicación, el medio ambiente.

Principales ventajas

Como ya lo dijimos arriba, estas pinturas están compuestas por materias primas que carecen de sustancias dañinas, como los biocidas o plastificantes, y su impacto al medio ambiente es muy inferior al de los productos sintéticos, basados en derivados del petróleo.

Las pinturas ecológicas cumplen y exceden las normas que limitan el uso de compuestos orgánicos volátiles, que no son otra cosa que una serie de vapores o gases que pueden tener efectos noscivos sobre el medio ambiente y la salud.

Se emplean 150 sustancias diferentes “de origen natural, renovables, biodegradables y sin emanaciones tóxicas”. Buena parte de estas sustancias se cultivan o producen en zonas cercanas a la fábrica para reducir el gasto energético del transporte. Algunas de las materias que se emplean son aceites y resinas vegetales, cera de abejas, corteza y hojas de árboles, caseína, plantas tintoreras y materias primas procedentes de procesos de reciclaje, como pigmentos de óxidos de hierro.

Es por esta razón que su impacto ambiental es mucho menor que el de las pinturas convencionales. Revisando el estudio realizado en una casa de 200 metros cuadrados, por la Ingeniería Trischler & Partner, de Friburgo (Alemania), indica que la pintura de silicato ahorra 12.000 julios de consumo energético, 80 m³ de emisiones, 100.000 litros de aguas residuales, 170 litros de residuos sólidos y 560 kilogramos de dióxido de carbono.

Estas pinturas ecológicas, al secarse forman una capa porosa por la que transpiran las paredes. Lo que permite, el vapor de agua y la humedad sean evacuados al exterior sin impedimentos y no se forman condensaciones entre la capa de pintura y la superficie de la pared, “evitando así, el descascarado”.

Esta característica, impide la formación de hongos y bacterias, lo que garantiza paredes más higiénicas y una duración mayor de la pintura en buen estado.

Además son ignifugas y, no desprenden gases tóxicos en caso de incendio.
Como no se desprende de la pared no es necesario removerla antes de volver a pintar.
Se puede pintar directamente sobre la capa antigua, tanto en techos como en paredes, sobre papel pintado, papel de fibra, placas de cartón yeso, arcilla, revoques o ladrillos.

Actualmente existe una gama muy amplia de colores.

Protección de la madera

La madera siendo un elemento vivo. absorbe y cede humedad dependiendo del contenido de humedad de la misma.
Además, dependiendo de la temperatura del ambiente, se contrae y dilata.

Considerando estas características, los barnices protectores ecológicos permiten que desarrolle sus funciones reguladoras. Algo que no ocurre con los barnices y protectores sintéticos. Cuando se aplican sobre la madera, estos productos crean una capa superficial que la aísla totalmente del exterior.

Los barnices sintéticos forman una capa rígida que acaba agrietándose debido a la tensión interna por dilatación y contracción. Al agrietarse la capa externa, la madera queda expuesta a la acción de elementos agresivos, que pueden deteriorar su aspecto y hacer necesario un tratamiento de decapado y lijado.

Los aceites y resinas vegetales tienen la ventaja de penetrar en la madera para protegerla desde el interior. Se trata de productos elásticos e hidrófugos (evitan la humedad), que se adaptan a los movimientos de la madera, impiden que ésta se agriete y eliminan la necesidad de decapado o lijado. La consecuencia es una madera que se mantiene en buen estado durante más tiempo y de menor mantenimiento.

Primero debemos poner los colores de fondo que simulen la noche, la selección de los tonos depende de tu creatividad, podemos probar las combinaciones en papel o cartón antes de aplicarlo a las paredes. Una vez seleccionados los colores, utilizando la técnica del “rag out”… damos vida a ese cielo nocturno!!!

It takes more the time to apply it
In humid conditions, the glue may loosen and can actually cause the wallpaper to peel from the wall
It is also easily soiled and damaged.
Over time it can be nearly impossible to match the colour or pattern of your wallpaper should it become damaged and need replacing.
This can be overcome by keeping a few spare rolls when you first wallpaper but be aware that the wallpaper already on the walls may look faded in comparison to the new rolls thanks to fading by the sun over time. Wallpaper is also costly to replace.

La ciudad de Curitiba en Brazil.

El transporte público masivo, muy eficiente, rápido y muy económico, integra toda la ciudad a través de las avenidas de uso únicamente para el transporte público.

Curitiba constituye la capital ecológica de Brazil, con una cadena de 28 parques y bosques. En 1970, correspondía 1 m2 de área verde por habitante, hoy en día la proporción ha cambiado a 52m2 por persona.

Los residentes han plantado 1.5 millón de árboles a lo largo de las calles de la ciudad.

Los constructores tienen rebajas tributarias al incluir espacios verdes en sus proyectos.

Los pobres de Curitiba, se reciben tickets para alimentos o transporte, a cambio de los deshechos que son llevados a los centros de acopio.

Bajo el programa de “Basura que no es Basura” el 70% de los deshechos es reciclado.
Una vez a la semana pasa el camión recolector de papeles, cartones, plástico, vidrio, tejidos, etc.
Solo con el reciclaje del papel 1.200 árboles diarios dejan de ser cortados.
Además de los beneficios de reciclar, el dinero recaudado de la venta de los mismos se utiliza en obras sociales.

La ciudad emplea a los desamparados para separar los materiales reciclables.

Por todo lo expuesto, Curitiba es ejemplo de una ciudad con desarrollo “Sostenible”.

En el área corporativa, bajo el slogan “Nada se pierde, todo se gana” Preserve ha logrado producir varias líneas de artículos para el hogar, reciclando plástico recogido en particular de “Stonyfield Farms”.

En cuanto a campañas de gobiernos, no podemos dejar de realtar la de Japón “Cool Bizz” que motiva a los ejecutivos y empleados en general a ir vestidos más informalmente y ligermante durante el verano, para bajar los consumos de aire acondicionado de las empresas, lo que reduce el consumo de luz del país.
