Myth:

Due to the shrinking or by being affected by humidity, fabrics should be kept at a minimum in the bathroom

Truth:

As long as they are not constantly exposed to water, most fabrics can easily been incorporated to a bathroom design

You can create a great wall in a matter of minutes: Paint circles (a cookie cutter makes an excellent template) randoml on your wall and then glue buttons to the center of the circles. Silver circles with gold buttons add a formal touch, while funky buttons over bright circles of color will give that wall spunk and personality. For an added touch buy polka dot shams and add buttons. The end result will be an unusual and buttoned-up room.

Take a large “antique” style picture frame and place it over the center of your mirrored wall. This can be achieved with glazier adhesive or by hanging it from the ceiling using a decorative braided rope, which can be found in most fabric stores. Using a lightweight frame will insure an easy installation.

CREATE

If you can not afford to designate a room in your home as a work area, consider converting a closet. This natural space affords one great feature: Your special area can be easily hidden by closing a door. For those who work at home, converting their “spare room” closet into a compact office area by building in all the required amenities can save both dollars and space. And do not forget to save a small area of the closet for Mom and Dad to hang their clothes.

As a temporary fix you can diminish the scratches with a refinishing stick or a magic marker close to the color of the table´s finish. Rub the marker on the scratched areas, blend with a damp cloth and wax. To further cancel those tell-tale sighns of use and age, try a simple cover-up. Wonderful trays of metal or wicker are available in a variety of sizes at shopper-friendly prices. They not only serve a a cover-up, but are per feet for transporting beverages and snacks. Who knows, you might keep your used table after all-my sister did.
